About homeopathy
Homeopathy is a gentle, natural form of medicine that takes account of the patient as an individual - considering all their physical and emotional symptoms as parts of a whole rather than a series of different complaints. It stimulates the body’s self-healing system and aims to restore health in a gentle and permanent fashion.
Homeopathy can be used to treat almost any complaint - however it has a special value in treatment of ongoing or chronic conditions. It is also often of value in emotional, behavioural and stress related disorders.
Most homeopathic remedies are derived from plants and may be taken in either tablet or liquid form.
Your visit
In the initial consultation Holly will ask many questions, in order to build up a comprehensive understanding of the individual patient. As well as the current health concerns, lifestyle/ environment, diet, prior medical history, family background and the pet's personality and behaviour will also be discussed.
This history taking and examination will enable Holly to match the patients’ symptoms to one of several thousand different remedies, and so make a suitable prescription.
In some cases homeopathy can be used alongside existing conventional medications as part of an integrated approach to treatment.
