Patient Stories
Monty
“Our dog Monty, a Hamilton Stovare Hound, was under treatment for a dislodged disc in the neck. The pain he was suffering meant that his general demeanour and quality of life was affected. Invasive surgery was one possible solution but we opted for regular weekly and bi-weekly acupuncture as an alternative. The immediate effect was short term pain alleviation and as the treatments continued we achieved the hoped for aim – we got ‘our’ dog back! There is no longer the need for surgery and Monty is back to his bouncing, barking best and his brother Harry has his playmate back! We unreservedly recommend considering acupuncture as a viable alternative and also acknowledge Holly’s professionalism with the important addition that she also cares!” – Geoff and Jan Nelson, North Somerset
Beau
Beau is a Tibetan Terrier, and here his owners explain how he has benefited from regular acupuncture over the last two years:
“There is no doubt in my mind that Beau has taken on a new lease of life. He still has the arthritis but is no longer in any obvious pain. We no longer give him the pain killers and he is a bouncy, happy dog again. He will be 16 in April and gives the casual observer the impression of a much younger dog. There is no comparison between his current condition and his sad and dejected self at the end of 2005.” – Jan & Chris Oliff
Jester
A Dalmatian who had Homeopathy for a skin complaint.
“Jester had an itchy skin condition – he had a sore tummy and would knaw his paws. He was on three anti-histamines a day, the problem was getting worse and the next step was steroids. I am delighted that following homeopathic treatment he is now completely off medication and Holly has provided me with the knowledge to treat him homeopathically should the need arise again” – Josephine Brown
Summah
She is a 13 year old Golden Retiever who has just begun acupuncture treatment over the last few months. Here her owner explains what she has noticed:
“In her acupuncture sessions Summah loved the fuss made of her (and her titbit at the end) and did not even notice the needles being inserted. At the end of the first week we noticed an improvement in her movements. Out on the walk she started jogging along and her tail was wagging rather than the slow plod. She seems more supple and the walks have got longer – she is now usually in front of us rather than way behind!” – Mrs Bishop
Harvey
Harvey is a Springer Spaniel who has had homeopathic treatment for extreme noise phobia and fear of thunderstorms and fireworks. His owner explains:
‘After one particular thunderstorm he bit through three doors and smashed crockery on kitchen surfaces and then whenever we left him he started to react like this. Holly’s treatment gradually worked and now we give him the homeopathic remedy when we leave him and there’s no trouble.’
Storm
Storm is a 10 year old Rottweiler who reacted very badly to conventional painkillers used for severe arthritis in her hips and shoulders. She is now off all medications and just has acupuncture for pain relief.
“Storm is as good as gold when she has the needles in. She just lies down for the 15 minutes it takes and afterwards she is sleepy for about 24 hours, then goes hyper, leaping about – which she couldn’t do before – and wanting to go for walks. I’m a convert. It`s unbelievable how well acupuncture works and I can’t praise Holly enough. She’s made such a difference to Storm”.
Bertie and George
Bertie and George are two beautiful black flat-coat retrievers (champions at Crufts) who regularly have homeopathic treatment. For Bertie it is for a benign growth on his front leg and George has had homeopathic remedies for an allergy. Their owner reports:
“Holly has been fantastic. Homeopathic treatment is non-invasive, has no side-effects and we are really pleased with the results”.
